There are many factors that affect the formation of feed pellets. Such as equipment, raw materials, manual operations all will affect its pelleting performance. So farmers should pay attention to the following aspects when you operate feed pellet machine.

The Effect of the External Factors on the Yield Feed Pellet Machine

Grease

Adding a small amount of 0.5% to 1% grease is beneficial to reduce the wear on the parts of the pellet machine. And make the formed pellets easier to pass through the die hole, increasing the pelletizing output. However, when the addition amount exceeds 2%, the pellets will become loose and difficult to shape.

Coarse Fiber Content

Adding an appropriate 3%~5% coarse fiber content is conducive to the bonding of the pellets. So it can reduce the powdering rate of the pellets, and increase the pelletizing output. However, when the crude fiber content exceeds 10%, the pellets will be affected due to poor bonding. Similarly, increase the wear rate of the machine and reduce pelletizing output.

Binding Agent

Most mineral feeds have no binding force or very small binding force, so the pelleting performance is poor. And the pelleting yield is low obviously. Therefore, when the mineral content is high, a small amount of binding agent is generally added to the material ( Such as molasses). Also it can improve the granulation performance to increase the output of the pellet machine and the feed crushing mixer used with it.

Effect of the Raw Material on the Yield Pellet Mill Machine

The larger volume and mass of the material, the higher the pelleting yield. Therefore, in addition to nutrition, you should considered the bulk density of the material when selecting raw materials. Fine pellet size, it will absorb steam fast, so is good for moisture regulation with high granulation output. However, if the pellet size is too fine, it will break easily, which affects the quality of the feed pellets. If the particle size is too large, it will increase the wear level of the die and the pressure roller, also increase the energy consumption and reduce the output.

Raw Material Needs to Be Crushed Below 6 mm

Material crushing is an indispensable operation before the pelleting. Only the raw materials crushed by the mill can be compressed by the pellet mill machine. Generally speaking, the crushing size of the material is related to the diameter of the compressed pellets. What feed size do you want to pellet, so the crushing size is also this number. The feed pellet machine manufacturer recommends that you crush the material below 6 mm, which is suitable for all feed pelleting.

Moisture Needs to Be Kept at about 13%

Many people think that as long as the material is crushed, it can be compressed by a pellet machine. This is not the case. The feed and output of the feed pellet mill machine are dry, which means that the pellet mill machine has strict requirements on moisture. The feed pellet machine manufacturers recommend that you keep the moisture content of the material at about 13%. This moisture is very low, so it is often required to dry the material if it is wet before pelleting.

Feed Pellet Machine Must Be Fed Evenly

Whether the feed pellet machine feeds at a constant speed is related to whether the pellet machine works normally and whether the pellet press is performed normally. If you load material quickly, the machine will become stuffy. If the feeding is slow, it is easy to cause the pellet machine to run empty. Therefore, maintaining a uniform speed of feeding can ensure the normal operation of the machine. Also, it can improve the working efficiency of the pellet machine. If you feel that manual feeding is troublesome, you can use a screw feeder instead of that.
